sound searching

Writer's picture: Tanya.Tanya.

we have to add a background soundtrack to our opening sequence and we decided to use contrast music as it will help amplify the emotions and will give a great contrasting effect.... of course, its contrasting music. since our genre is psychological thriller I decided that we should go against the conventions of psychological thriller and instead of scary, fast-paced music we decided to go for calmer and soothing music... you know contrast music.

we heard different types of yoga music, calming music and meditation music that you could find online but none of them really fit well with our opening sequence. then after searching for a while, we could not really find any. I was watching another tv show that day and is k-drama called spring night as I really loved their cinematography and the realistic approach in the tv show by not making it dramatic in their actions or how it was shot but their music was wonderful. during one of the scenes, I heard their soundtrack that was a really good calming music which would fit really well in our opening sequence.

the next day I immediately made Svea hear their entire OST album and there were two really similar songs that pooped out, one being a little brighter and one being more slower and darker if I were to explain in words. and we decided to go for grief which was a little more brighter. here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSD3hvCvPoI
