although we have only a few characters in our opening sequence, social representation is very important in media and how we represent our characters and if we follow stereotypes or break them. the representation of age, gender, nationality and disability would be the most important in our opening sequence.
as per our opening sequence, Zia fits right in the category of the stereotype of teenagers and she can be often seen as lazy and a person who hates school, however, if we compare her to the stereotypes of the past of teenagers who were considered to be carefree, she will break those moms as she takes a lot of stress due to her day to day life, studies and her anxiety.
when talking about the representation of gender in our opening sequence Zia would fit in the category of being a traditional female who is weak and innocent. as for eve her brother who is like the New Man, and is open-minded and very calm due to his childhood experiences. although their mother breaks the stereotypes of being a traditional female as she is mentally strong, independent and a workaholic and puts work before anything in her life.
as for the representation of Indian culture can be seen in hints through our opening sequence in the background and in the mother's wallpaper and are not very significant. as for the representation Zia's as such disability Zia, tries to keep the stereotype by keeping it a secret.
