mock shoots

Writer's picture: Tanya.Tanya.

a day before we took the main shots, we decided to go to the locations and rehearse the entire shoot. from makeup to the lighting we were going to use, we tried to keep everything as similar as we were going to do the next day. and we realised a lot and improved upon it when we were shooting the next day.

we realised that in the first scene the scar was no visible on the left side of her back and would not reflect properly. here is the clip of that:

we also realised that the scar makeup was too light and was not being captured on camera thus the next day we decided to make it darker.

we also played with the lighting in the bathroom to see which one was more fit. we did so in the living room too. we also checked the props present in the scenes and other factors of the mis-en-scene.

the mock shoot helped us decide what we are looking at and even check the symmetry and a few other factors. we also rehearsed the acting bit of the opening sequence. I also directed the actors and how we wanted their actions to look like, and what they should do, and what kind of emotions they have to portray. I will make a separate blog on this too.

before the second day, of shooting, we made the arayna rehearse her scenes and also saw if the ketchup and food colouring was working as fake blood. we also tried to keep the lighting low and saw the atmosphere of being alone in the classroom.

the mock shoot was very helpful to us on the main day of the shoot and we realised what worked and what did not.
