for the casting of the main character of our opening sequence, we decided on casting someone who looks similar and gives out the same vibes as Zia. thus we decided to take auditions for the role.
we put up a poster in our school and we also asked a few of our friends outside of our school to come audition as we thought that they might be a good fit for the role. we asked them to act out a short script, that included vocalisation and actions. we had about 10 candidates for the role and the audition in itself lasted for about an hour and a half.
at the end of the audition, we had decided on who would play Zia, and we decided to go for Arayna Dasgupta, as she exactly fit in for the vibe of the character and had the physical appearance as we had thought about Zia's to be.
we had few other candidates, but some of them did not fit the physical description of Zia, and some of them did not give out the same vibe as Zia, and a few were not very good actors although they were very beautiful and fit the appearance of Zia and vice-versa. we had another very good candidate for Zia but she was very tall and also had a busy schedule, compared to the rest of the candidates. Thus, Arayna became perfect for the role of Zia.
