the basic codes and conventions of psychological thrillers and pretty simple, and can be very obvious. most of them include many themes such as death and other features that can even be found in a thriller such as, the low level of lighting to create a sort of fear and suspense for the audience to keep them engaged and interested, and the darkness also some time represents the character in a way.
